1. Where is the furniture constructed?
Kate Madison specializes in French Country custom-made furniture inspired by the 1800s. Each item is made and finished to your specifications by carpenters and craftspersons in the French Countryside of Quebec, Canada.

2. What is the furniture made of?
Our carpenters use 100% solid wood and never any pressboard, or artificial woods. Each piece of furniture is constructed of aged, solid pine. The pieces are designed to have an antiqued appearance and quality.

3. How is the furniture finished?
All the pieces are finished using top-quality Milk Paint, the traditional way antique furniture was finished. Each item is then distressed to give it an antiqued look. The milk paint our craftsmen use is a liquid-base paint that is considered a better quality than other milk paints.

5. Can a piece of furniture be customized?
Yes, a design specialist will work with you to design a piece of furniture to meet your needs. For an additional charge, we can build existing pieces to different size and scale. For more information, please call (207) 967-8989 or email the specifications to customerservice@katemadison.com

6. How do you figure out shipping charges?
Kate Madison works with an outside, freight shipper that specializes in transporting large scale furniture. Each piece is pad wrapped to avoid damages that may occur when shipping using traditional freight methods. All items are delivered inside your home to your desired location. The cost to ship an item is based on your state and zip code. Kate Madison does not make money on shipping/handling, the charges are simply the cost to get the item to you in top condition.

Shipping Rates: 12% of total or the following minimums:
New England: $200 (MA, VT, ME, CT, RI, NH)
Northeast: $395 (NJ, DE, MD, DC, NY 100-122, 125-126 zips only, PA 180-181, 189-191, 193-196 zips only, VA 201, 220-224, 226-227 zips only)
• Central / South: $495 (NY-remaining zips, PA remaining zips, VA remaining zips, OH, IN, IL, MI, WI, WV, NC, SC, GA, FL, AL, MS, LA, AR, MO, IA, KY, TN)
• Western: $595 (All continental US States west of the Mississippi River)

7. I’m redesigning a room, can I get pieces to match?
Absolutely, we work with individuals who are redesigning every room of the house. We can help make decisions on furniture and finishes that would work together. For more information, please email customerservice@katemadison.com or call (207) 967-8989.

8. How long will it take to receive my purchases?

Kate Madison is a custom-made furniture seller. This means that each item in designed and finished by a craftsperson. We take special care to make sure each item is made right, for this reason an order takes 4 to 5 weeks for the workshop to custom-build and hand-finish your pieces, then the items are freight shipped to your home to arrive in 2 to 4 week from shipping. The entire order process takes 6 to 8 weeks depending on your distance from Boston. However, if we have the item in our warehouse, it can be shipped immediately. A customer representative will contact you via email to set the earliest delivery date.

9. What if an item arrives damaged?
Upon arrival, every item is inspected by the deliver for damage. In the rare event that an item is damaged during shipping, the delivery service will ship the item back to our store, at no cost to you.

10. What if I don’t like the item?
Standard purchases can be returned for a refund or exchange for 15-days after receipt. Simply ship the undamaged item back to us the same way it arrived, and we will refund the cost of the item. We regret that shipping charges cannot be refunded.
Unfortunately, customized items, or custom finishes cannot be returned.
