Product Description

The French writing desk traditionally symbolized being a well-educated person among French Aristocrats. Louix XVI brought writing tables with tapered, tapered and cabriole legs to the forefront of high-style. Today, writing desks serve as modern and functional workstations in home offices. The desk's solid wood top provides ample work surface for a laptop or desktop computer, and mobile devices.

The writing table offers modern minimalism to an office space when compared to the grandeur of a traditional executive desk. The turned legs and two storage drawers boast simplicity and organization in your office. The drawers provide storage for the pens, paper, and all the necessary office supplies. The solid wood top gives users plenty of work surface for a laptop, or desktop computer, phone and lamp. The ball turnings on the hardwood legs add elegance and Neo-classical french-style to the small desk.

The petite size desk is perfect for a bedroom, hallway, kitchen or nook. The writing table is also great kids or student desk for long nights of homework. It's the perfect small table for everyday tasks—paying bills, sending emails, and writing blog posts.

The French Country Writing Table complements French Country, English Cottage, Farmhouse, Rustic, Transitional and Traditional style decors.

Wood Top Styles

We offer (4) styles of tops on all of our furniture:

  • Stained Pine
  • Hand Planed
  • Vintage Pine
  • Birch

"Stained Pine" is our standard solid wood top featured on all furniture pieces.

See Stained Pine furniture example

"Hand Planed" is a solid Pine top which has a planed down surface to open the grain of the wood to allow a deeper stain color. This technique provides an uneven, grooved surface for a more rustic look.

See Hand Planed furniture example

"Vintage Pine" is made from reclaimed wood from old hunting cabins, buildings, and cottages. No two tops are alike, some are more rustic than others, they can be very distressed by their weather worn age. You should expect that some have divots and worming.

See Vintage Pine furniture example

"Birch" is a hardwood top that has less wood grain and no knots when compared to Pine. Birch is a popular choice for customers looking for a harder top for children or heavy wear.

Our Aged Finish tops are also available, these colors are:

  • Caramel
  • Sequoia
  • Tuscan Sunset

Aged Finish tops are achieved with a stain, glaze and surface distressing. You choose the table top that fits your style of table.
